Do you ever have those days when you feel that your outfit is too plain, but you don’t know what else to add? A necklace seems too flashy and a dainty watch or bracelet just doesn’t feel like enough to be noticeable? Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the neck bandana/neck scarf.
It seems silly. Tying a bandana around your neck? But this look is very classy and stylish, and only continues to grow in popularity. Bring up any Pinterest page and there’s a photo of a girl looking fashionable with a bandana tied around her neck. It is the perfect item to add to any outfit to make it stand out and become more noticeable. A small decorative scarf tied bandana style also works with this look and has equal effect. Scarfs are not just being wrapped around the neck and chest to keep warm, but are being used in different ways to make a statement.
The look first began with Western cowboys in films and Hollywood began to use the bandana around the neck as a fashion statement. Most of you remember Frenchie in Grease, you know, the fashion girl with the neck scarves and big dreams? The 90s choker and silk scarves were all the rage on the runway last year, continuing to pop up everywhere. The neck scarf has made a big comeback this season and is all the rage.
Our lovely fashionista here wears a small, colorful scarf with blues in it that are similar to the open jean shirt she layers over her gray dress. She combines this outfit with a messy bun and sandals to give it that casual, yet still stylish look.
