Hair Trends: Buns

Buns are in! Where they ever not? From the most elegant woman to the most dressed down, buns have always been around to inspire us. Sometimes it’s too hot and you’re having a bad hair day, sometimes you purposefully have coiled your hair to look elegant, whatever the case, buns are always a go-to for any occasion. Many celebrities have worn the elegant, slicked back bun to events, but many artists are now rocking different versions of the bun for every day uses.

There is the half up-half down knot bun, which is a trend that has spread from celebrities to every day youth wearing it on a regular basis. It’s cute, easy, and keeps all those strands out of your face.

Second Bun: We have our space buns, Minnie Mouse or Princess Leia style. The look has increasingly grown the past year and with summer approaching, it is the perfect way to keep your hair off of your neck in hot weather, but still look cute. Whether it’s two buns on the side of your head or two buns on top of your head, the trend is a popular one. I mean, who doesn’t want to be Princess Leia?

Combination: There is also an alternative similar to the space bun and the half up-half down bun. You can always combine the two. Artists such as Marina and the Diamonds and Rihanna have combined the two hairstyles. The upper part of the hair is twisted into two buns while the lower half remains down.

There is also, of course, different versions of just the normal bun. You can part your hair in the center and do a low bun or pull it all back, make it a topknot on your head, or leave a few loose strands around the ear.

Not only for women, but men are rocking the buns as well. Take for example any soccer player or athlete. It’s the perfect way to keep your hair out of your face and stay refreshed. Any way you want to rock it, the buns are always in, and forever stylish.
